Google Board Member Ann Mather a Target of the SEC

Wednesday, 30 April 2008

Ann Mather, who has served on Google’s board of directors since 2005, is now coming under fire from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in connection with a shady backdating scandal at Pixar.  Mather was the CFO at Pixar from 1999 to 2004.

Google disclosed in an SEC filing of their own that the LA office of the SEC informed her that they intend to recommend that the SEC initiate a civil proceeding against her for allegations of violating federal securities laws related to stock option transactions involving Pixar, her former employer.

Pixar has since been bought up by Disney.  In addition to her current stint at Google, Mather has also been a director at the Central European Media Enterprises Group, Zappos.com, and Glu Mobile.
